Utah

South-central Utah's otherworldly desert landscapes make it a dream for photographers, and I had the chance to explore its remote and striking terrain. From the lone, towering silhouette of Factory Butte to the sculpted sandstone monoliths of the Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon, every scene offered unique challenges and rewards. In Goblin Valley, hundreds of strange hoodoos created a playground of shapes and shadows, while Capitol Reef's layered cliffs glowed in warm shades of red, cream and gold. Photographing this corner of Utah allowed me to document a landscape that feels almost lunar, where the silence, scale and shifting desert light make it so captivating.
